The Bainbridge Ometepe Sister Islands Association (BOSIA) purchased 30 Doley books to be donated to schools in Ometepe, Nicaragua. For more than 25 years, BOSIA has built bridges of friendship between Bainbridge Island in Washington State and Ometepe Island in Nicaragua. Their vision of a long-term, sustainable relationship – a mutually beneficial partnership of equals based on respect, continues into BOSIA’s next quarter century. What an honor that, thanks to BOSIA’s Library Committee, Doley books are being distributed to students in Ometepe. The fact that artist, Marcio Diaz, is from Nicaragua makes this connection even more special!
